Supporting NCHA’s retrofit programme

90% of homes are now EPC C or above

Pelham have been supporting NCHA’s retrofit team in improving the EPC rating of their older homes. With over 90% now rated EPC C and above. 

Our architectural team has been working with NCHA to secure planning permission for enhancing the insulation on residents' homes. We’ve submitted planning applications for over 230 homes across 13 local authorities.

For each application, the focus has been on fabric-first energy improvement strategies, including external wall insulation with a brick or render finish, often new windows, upgraded loft insulation and improved ventilation systems.

In addition, our team have also undertaken External Wall Insulation training to ensure we can continue to advise our clients with confidence. External wall insulation is a key part of reducing heat loss, cutting carbon emissions and improving both comfort in both new builds and retrofit projects.

The training supports our ongoing commitment to sustainable design and helps us play our part in delivering greener, more energy-efficient homes and buildings.
