Pelham: our story
1973
We recruited Colin Tuck, our first member of the design team.
1981
Our first design and build scheme. John Carroll Court in Nottingham.
1993
Mike Price joined NCHA as a RIBA-qualified architect.
1995
Newark Castle Station development completed which provided 176 homes for rent or low-cost ownership on land that had been derelict for many years.
1997
Architects completed the Sheridan Court development of Nottingham city centre flats located at the end of the Victoria Centre.
1999
Simon Henderson joined as a RIBA-qualified architect.
1999
Paul Moat joined NCHA as Assistant Director of Design.
2000
We completed the Trivett Square. A regeneration scheme of 140 new build apartments in the Lace Market conservation area in the Nottingham city centre. The scheme kick started the regeneration of this inner city area. We were awarded with a Nottingham Civic Society Commendation.
2002
We were one of the first housing associations in the East Midlands to install photovoltaic cells onto the roofs of new homes.
2006
Green Apple Environmental Award presented to Mike Price at the Houses of Parliament for sustainable design at Queens Road in Loughborough.
2007
We introduced the Environmental Sustainability Coordinator role.
2011
We completed 97 homes at Holdingham in Lincolnshire, a large rural scheme near Sleaford.
2012
The Pelham Architects brand was developed to reach external clients.
2013
We successfully completed 22 homes in Wirksworth for Dale Housing, on of our first external clients.
2014
William Woodsend Memorial Homes in Lenton was our first renovation of an Almshouse. We received the Almshouse Association Patron's Award in 2016.
2015
Our architects began visiting schools on Design Day to support the next generation of designers. This tradition still continues today.
2015
We designed our first project for Nottingham City Council, which included 19 affordable homes, flats and a retail unit on Knights Close in Top Valley.
2016
We were granted planning permission for the renovation of Lambley Almshouse, originally built in 1897.
2019
The design of Radford Mills won the Building Communities Award.
2021
We rebranded to Pelham, bringing together our architecture, development and contract management services for external clients.
2023
We celebrated our fifty year anniversary.
2024
Pelham designed NCHA's new office, Clifton Place. We all moved in November 2024. The office is designed and built to BREEAM Excellent.
2025
Geda Construction completed our flagship development off Farnborough Road in Clifton.
2025
Pelham Architects win Regeneration and Restoration Project of the Year for Clifton.
2025
Simon Henderson took over the role of Head Architect from Mike Price. Mike steps down to Senior Architect and reduces his number of working days.
2025
George James joined as a RIBA-architect.
