Farnborough Road wins national RICS award

Award recognition for flagship regeneration project

We're delighted to celebrate national success after Farnborough Road was named winner of the Refurbishment/Revitalisation category at the RICS UK Awards Grand Final, held in London on 22 October 2026.

The award marks another significant milestone for the landmark development, which was previously recognised at the RICS East Midlands Awards, where it secured wins in both the Residential Development and Refurbishment/Revitalisation categories before progressing to the national finals.

Delivered in partnership with NCHA and GEDA Construction, Farnborough Road has transformed a former disused college campus into a vibrant mixed-use community. The development brings together independent living apartments, supported living accommodation, community facilities and a modern workplace, creating opportunities for people to live, work and connect in one location.

As architects, development project managers and contract managers for the scheme, Pelham Architects played a key role throughout the project, helping to transform a derelict site into an award-winning development that delivers lasting social value for local people.

The national award recognises the project's success in breathing new life into a previously vacant site while prioritising sustainability, community benefit and long-term positive impact.

David Partridge, Head of Pelham Architects, said:

"Farnborough Road is a flagship scheme for Pelham Architects, so seeing it receive national recognition is incredibly rewarding. We’re proud of what has been achieved through collaboration with NCHA, GEDA Construction and the wider project team."

"Having designed and delivered this exceptional regeneration project, it's particularly special that Farnborough Road is now also home to our own workplace. We work in this building every day and see first-hand the positive impact the development has had on the people and community around it."

The development demonstrates how collaborative working, thoughtful design and effective project delivery can transform underused spaces into thriving places that meet a range of housing, workplace and community needs.

This national award is a testament to the dedication of everyone involved in the project. We would like to thank NCHA, GEDA Construction, the consultant team, contractors and all colleagues who contributed to making Farnborough Road a nationally recognised example of regeneration done well.
