Architect shortlisted for Housing Heroes Award
Inside Housing Lifetime Achievement Award
Pelham Architects is proud to announce that Mike Price has been shortlisted for the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Housing Heroes Awards 2026, one of the housing sector’s most respected national honours. The awards ceremony will take place on Monday 22 June 2026 at Manchester Central.
Mike’s nomination recognises a remarkable career spanning nearly 40 years, during which he has helped shape communities and transform neighbourhoods across the East Midlands. Since joining NCHA in 1993 to strengthen its in‑house design team, Mike has played a pivotal role in the growth of Pelham Architects and the delivery of more than 10,000 high‑quality affordable homes. Under his leadership, Pelham has become one of the few architectural practices embedded within a housing association that also successfully serves external clients – a model that reflects innovation, collaboration and social purpose.
A RIBA architect with a diploma in urban design, Mike’s work is defined by architectural quality, sustainability and a deep respect for people and place. Projects such as Trivett Square, Queens Road in Loughborough and Radford Mill in Nottingham demonstrate his ability to balance heritage, environmental responsibility and community need, leaving a lasting legacy that continues to improve residents’ lives.
Beyond buildings, Mike’s influence is felt through his commitment to mentoring and education. For over a decade, he has inspired young people through school outreach programmes and championed continual professional development within Pelham, nurturing the next generation of built‑environment professionals.
As Mike approaches retirement, this national recognition celebrates a career rooted in thoughtful design, leadership and a belief that well‑designed affordable homes and neighbourhoods can make a profound difference.
Everyone at Pelham and NCHA congratulates Mike on this well‑deserved shortlist and wishes him the very best of luck in June.
